FSN set to feature Toughest Cowboy from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul this weekend
DENVER - The 2008 World's Toughest Rodeo featuring Toughest Cowboy presented by Jagermeister, the ironman event of rodeo, makes its seventh stop on the nine stop rodeo revolution tour this weekend at the Xcel Energy Center in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Fox Sports Network (FSN) will broadcast the exciting action beginning this weekend. This will be the last chance for cowboys to move up in the standings prior to the Playoff stop in Nashville, Tenn., next week.
2007 Toughest Cowboy champion Bandy Murphy of Weatherford, Okla., continues to lead the field in the chase for Jäger Ranch and is coming off a big win in tournament six where he defeated Jared Green of Socorro, N.M. Murphy, The Home Depot cowboy, will face Wrangler cowboy Erik Wolford. It should be a good match-up as Murphy has three tournament wins to his name, while Wolford of Clinton, Mich., picked up wins in Glendale, Ariz., and Greensboro, N.C.
The cowboy needing to make a move in the standings is Dodge cowboy Trey Broussard, who is currently seventh in the overall standings. Broussard, of Estherwood, La., will be going head-to-head with Green. Both cowboys were shut-out in tournament six – Broussard vs. Shane Proctor and Green vs. Murphy - so each will be looking for a little redemption.
Proctor, of Powell, Wyo., who defeated Broussard in the previous stop will be matched this week against Chad Eubank of Cleburne, Texas. Eubank, who was dropped off the Tour following the fourth stop in Greensboro, N.C., returns to the Tour after B.J. Schumacher was injured during the sixth tournament forcing him out of the competition. Eubank, who is sponsored by Super Clean, got the call after being the highest ranked alternate. With Eubank back on Tour, the plot thickens for "Who will win Jager Ranch?"
Fans can watch each exciting episode of Toughest Cowboy weekly on several FSN affiliates in primetime (day and time depend on each affiliate) and at midnight every Saturday nationwide, please consult local listings. Each show will take fans into the heart of the action to savor the triumph, suffer the anguish and share the intensity of the ultimate challenge that is Toughest Cowboy. Nowhere else will you see eight cowboys riding bulls and broncs all in one night in the same arena in a match style format.
Rodeo is among the fastest growing sports in America , and Toughest Cowboy presented by Jägermeister is revolutionizing the sport by introducing an exciting and innovative format to new audiences in venues across the United States . Unlike other rodeos where riders usually compete in just one discipline, Toughest Cowboy is an unprecedented test of endurance as all competitors must ride in three disciplines in one night (Bareback Riding, Bull Riding and Saddle Bronc Riding). The events feature head-to-head matches throughout the season leading to the playoffs and championship…ultimately crowning someone the Toughest Cowboy Champion.
Toughest Cowboy is a true test of endurance and strength and only the strong will survive. Each competitor must come ready to ride both bulls and broncs every night eight seconds at a time. In the end, one competitor will be crowned the champion and become the new owner of Jager ranch.
